First Encounter

About First Encounter

First Encounter is a conceptual, slightly surrealist artwork from the Alchemy of Love series exploring the sensuality of love. How the mind and imagination shapes our perception of romance and the dynamics of relationships. In a daydream like state, the mind's eye recalls an intimate embrace, the sensuality of a voice, the tactile thrill of physical intimacy.
Neurons spark, dopamine flow… is our brain chemistry the one responsible for thinking non-stop about someone we're falling in love with. What are the emotions that flow after a first encounter? How does the mind represent these deep inner feelings?
Images of flowing water represent life and the freshness of a new beginning; a pair of lips, the sensitive erogenous and tactile organ symbol of sensuality and sexuality. The eye, probably the most important symbolic sensory organ conveys a gateway into the soul.
First Encounter is an emotionally charged work intermixing photography, digital photomontage, photo-painting and drawing to express the excitement and also the vulnerability of falling in love.
This artwork is from the Alchemy of Love series which is a collection of photomontages that explore the mind's dreamy slightly surrealist interpretation of the world of love and emotional relationships. The series brings together both photography, photo-painting and drawing and expresses the flow of thoughts and emotions.
