Materials & Art Minis Care

Baron Grafton Arthouse Art Minis make fantastic gifts thanks to their display flexibility (wall hang, flat display or magnetic affix) and being cleverly designed to fit in the letterbox to send a smile and a gift that can be delivered even if no one’s in!

Our Art Minis are real photographic prints protected under acrylic glass that can last up to 75 years due to the high-quality materials used with minimal care and maintenance. Acrylic care consists of no more than normal wipe-cleaning to keep it looking new – but care should be taken to avoid scratches.

HOW TO EASY CLEAN YOUR ACRYLIC GLASS

For regular cleaning use a soft microfibre cloth or chamois leather cloth to avoid scratching the acrylic glass, dampened ( not soaked ) with cold water and then gently wipe over the acrylic glass. To clean acrylic glass that has slight blemishes or dirt, or appear cloudy due to a lot of dust being ingrained onto the glass, use a premium dampened microfibre cloth with soapy water to clean the entire surface area.

Avoid applying pressure as you wipe to keep scratches away, instead lightly blot the surface. After you have wiped the entire piece of acrylic glass, use the dry side of the microfiber cloth to dry or buff the area. Buffing or polishing the acrylic glass surface reduces future stains. If there are any remaining streaks, rewet the cloth and dry again.

You can also find specialised acrylic glass cleaner products that are clear, have an anti-static formula and are specially created to remove the negative charge that can attract dust and dirt to the acrylic surface.

THINGS TO KNOW

NEVER use window cleaner, ammonia products, or other chemical sprays on acrylic (even if they are environmentally friendly, organic or scented-free) as they are harsh and will cause scratches to the surface. Never use any type of solvent even if anything ever sticks to it (such as an adhesive label or gummy substance).

Do not use paper towels as they may produce scratches. Stick with a microfibre cloth.

Avoid ammonia based products or other home glass cleaners, because they contain harmful chemicals that will actually damage the surface leaving it cloudy looking. Soapy water is the safest and most effective cleaning solution for acrylic glass.

Following this tips will be enough to keep your acrylic glass dust and cloudy free!
